Guidelines for Authors
People publishing in Culture Managent / Zarządzanie w Kulturze are encouraged to use the ORCID authors identification system.
ORCID identifier (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a popular tool in scientific communication used to uniquely identify the author and his publication. We encourage you to register in the ORCID database and use a unique number.

Rules for paper acceptance and rejection. Tips for authors of the papers published in Culture Management journal.
- The initial verification of scientific papers is performed by the journal’s editorial staff. It involves checking whether a paper is consistent with the journal’s profile and whether it is of proper quality.
- The editorial staff verifies whether a submitted paper meets at least one of the following criteria:
- the paper is based on the author’s own research and thus on new scientific sources (the recommended approach);
- the paper is a critical review of the Polish or foreign state of research in a given area;
- the paper promotes the results of Polish or foreign research in congress languages.
All published papers should constitute a creative explanation of the research problem / resolution of the research hypothesis. The editors of the journal may, in justified circumstances, accept a paper which does not meet the above criteria.
- The paper accepted by the editors is then sent to two independent scientific reviewers. The reviewers’ duties include:
- providing feedback on paper quality (including in particular: the consistency of content with the title, use of literature and sources, paper’s originality and substantive findings, correctness of research methods, exhaustion of the topic, scope of materials used), evaluating the correctness of the facts presented in the paper, and suggesting changes and corrections;
- verifying the paper in terms of its compliance with copyright laws; and
- providing feedback on the structural and linguistic correctness of the paper.
- Technical tips:
Articles should be submitted via the Editorial Panel.
Only .doc files (Word 97 or newer) will be accepted. Font Times New Roman size 12, 1.5 spacing, left margin 3 cm, the remaining margins 2.5 cm. The volume of the paper should not exceed 20 pages of standard typescript (one page is 1,800 characters). Illustrations and figures intended for publication must have sufficient quality, unified form and descriptions; this applies in particular to multipage inserts with a very diverse illustrative material, to which thumbnails/miniatures/previews are the basis of technical editing and speed up the work on the publication. Each illustration/figure should be provided in a separate file with its name (all files collected in one folder) and printed within the text or on a separate page. Photographs: .tif files with a resolution of not less than 300 dpi for a reproduction, or originals with quality sufficient enough to be scanned. Charts: prepared in Corel Draw or Microsoft Excel (if they have to be edited). Drawings: as .cdr files or contrasting, good-quality originals for reproduction.
- Recommended structure of papers published in “Culture Management”
The proper structure of a scientific paper adds to its overall value and impacts the final assessment. In order to maintain the correct structure, it is recommended to apply the IMRAD approach (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion).
The text should be developed according to the following template:
GENERAL INFORMATION
first name and surname
academic title/degree
affiliation
e-mail address(in the case of several authors, this is the address of the author designated to maintain correspondence)
address for sending author’s copies and contracts
TITLE
In Polish and English. It should be relatively succinct but accurately reflect the essence of the paper.
ABSTRACT
In Polish and English. It should contain a concise presentation of the research, methodology, results, and conclusions. Up to 200 words.
KEYWORDS
In Polish and English. Up to 5.
INTRODUCTION
The introduction should outline the aim(s) of the paper. It is also required to present the research problem and to formulate (a) hypothesis(-es) or (a) research question(s). Furthermore, it is important to present the epistemological background: a research perspective or a specific scientific paradigm.
The introduction can be complemented with a short commentary, which is a pithy but compelling preface to the work proper.
LITERATURE REVIEW
It is required to outline the context of the current academic knowledge and findings related to the topic of the paper. It is necessary to explore current scholarly papers published in the top journals in a given field, and then publications (papers and monographs) which are the original source of knowledge on a given topic.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
It is crucial to present the following: how the research materials were obtained (which quantitative and/or qualitative methods and techniques were used; what kind of research group was taken into account and why; where the research was carried out; at what time; for how long; and what the research stages were), what empirical data were obtained, and which interpretation method was applied.
RESULTS
At this point, the exact research results should be presented, followed by discussion and interpretation. The results should not be demonstrated only in a synthetic form (charts, tables, models, figures, and quotes), but should also be manifested descriptively, reflectively, and critically. It is recommended that the description is well-thought-out; the division and order of presentation of individual research results should be logical, consistent, and innovative.
DISCUSSION
The research results should also be discussed in terms of their scientific significance, both with reference to the current state of research and scientific theories, as well as with reference to the further research that could possibly be conducted in the future. The discussion should be summarized with appropriate conclusions.
The discussion can also focus on the strengths and weaknesses of the conducted research. It also serves as a pithy summary of the entire paper.
BIBLIOGRAPHY
Bibliography constitutes an integral part of the paper. Bibliographic descriptions should have a uniform form. We recommend using the Harvard Style of Referencing. The reference list should contain only sources cited within the text. Do not include sources cited after other authors (no indirect sources). The bibliography should be sorted alphabetically.
In-text citations:
- The author’s surname and year of publication are inserted in brackets; if you have used a direct quote or an idea from a specific page, or set of pages, include the page numbers after the colon. Example: (Orzechowski 2015, 327-331).
- When citing several works by the same author, you should follow the year with the letters a, b, c ..., respectively. Example: (Orzechowski 2015a, 330).
- If the publication has several authors, the names should be separated by a semicolon. Example: (Hodgson; Cicmil 2006).
- In the case of three or more authors, cite the first surname and follow it with et al. Example: (Jensen et al. 2016).
- In the case of collective works, give the name of the first editor of the entire volume. Example: (Küpers ed. 2017).

The proposed system may be subject to modifications, depending on the nature of the paper. However, it is recommended that the structure is transparent and meets the accepted scientific standards.
The editors reserve the right to introduce minor corrections to the submitted papers.
Ghostwriting, guest authorship, scientific misconduct preventing procedures
As "ghostwriting" are qualified cases in which someone has made a substantial contribution to publication, without revealing his participation as one of the authors, or without being mentioned in the acknowledgments enclosed to the publication. "Guest authorship" ("honorary authorship") are considered situations in which the authors contribution is insignificant, despite of declaration.
In order to prevent cases of scientific misconduct the Editorial Board introduced a procedure protecting against cases of "ghostwriting" and "guest authorship":
- Authors are required to submit their publications with a declaration specifying contribution of individual authors to publications (with their affiliations and contributions, ie the information who is the author of concepts, principles, methods, etc. used in the publications). The main responsibility lies with the author submitting the publication (declaration template is available on the website of the Quarterly).
- Authors are required to provide information about funding sources of the publication and contribution of research institutions, associations and other entities ("financial disclosure").
- All detected cases of "ghostwriting" and "guest authorship" will be exposed, including notifying the appropriate entities (institutions employing the authors, science societies and associations, etc.).
- All detected cases of scientific misconduct are documented.
