An annual Polish Pedagogical Thought is the periodical of scholars interested in the past and present Polish pedagogical thought. Its deeper exploration and integration into national and European discourse is the message of the periodical. This initiative is built on the canvas of belief that native pedagogical thought didn’t find - mostly as a result of historical circumstances - favorable conditions either for arise in applications for pedagogical practice, or in the national and international discourse. A large part of this thought was perceived in different periods of Polish history as undesirable. The multitude of factors meant that it has not been seen its innovation, attractiveness - sometimes the course of history pushed it to its margin, sometimes we did it ourselves by accepting the suggested national complexes, stereotypes, foreign patterns. Consequently: There are no studies on its essence, rank, topicality. We do not have comprehensive studies of its history and exploration of the achievements of modernity. We do not have (or they cover too narrow extent) works that orders its achievements. Many of its valuable areas have been forgotten, and their native originality has not been sufficiently exposed and consumed. All of the above means that today we have a weak self-conscious of made intellectual choices (their sources and inspirations), the election of thought, with which we enter into discourse and elected directions of its development. The annual Polish Pedagogical Thought is called in order to successively overcome these problems.
